How we build it

The Z profile gives you a horizontal infeed, a steep climb and a horizontal discharge from one machine and one drive. Cleat height and pitch are set from the piece size so nothing rides over the top of a cleat on the climb. Side skirts run the full inclined section — the usual failure on a bought-in Z conveyor is skirting that stops short and spills at the transition.

What lift can a Z-type conveyor manage?

Typically 1–6 m in a single machine. Above that the footprint of the infeed and discharge sections starts to work against you and a spiral conveyor or bucket elevator is usually the better answer.

Can a Z-type conveyor feed a hopper or weigher?

Yes, that is a common use. The discharge section is built to the hopper height and we can add a variable speed drive so the feed rate is matched to the downstream weigher rather than the motor.
