Ash Handling & Duct Dampers for Power and Thermal Plants

Two quite different jobs sit under this heading. Ash handling is abrasive, hot and dusty, so screws and drag chains are run deliberately slow with replaceable liners — speed buys capacity on paper and costs chain life in practice. Dampers are a control and isolation problem instead. A butterfly or multi-louver damper modulates flow; a guillotine gives positive isolation so people can safely work downstream. Those are not interchangeable, and specifying a modulating damper where isolation was needed is a common and expensive mistake.
