How we build it

Belt width and speed are set from your throughput and bulk density, not rounded up to a catalogue size. Idler pitch is chosen for the lump size and the impact at the loading point, and take-up is sized so the belt is tensioned rather than stretched. Frames are jig-welded so the pulleys stay square, which is what stops a belt wandering once it is running loaded.

How wide a belt do I need for 100 TPH?

For a free-flowing material at around 1.25 m/s a 650–800 mm troughed belt will normally carry 100 TPH, but the answer moves with bulk density and lump size. Run the figures through our belt conveyor calculator, then send us the material and we will confirm on a GA drawing.

What is the steepest incline a belt conveyor can run?

About 18° with a plain belt before the material starts to roll back. A chevron or cleated belt takes you to roughly 30°. Above that a Z-type, bucket elevator or screw conveyor is the right machine.
