How we build it

A feeder controls rate; a conveyor only transports. The difference matters because a hopper that will not discharge evenly makes every downstream calculation wrong. Outlet size and wall angle are set from the material's flow behaviour rather than from what fits the frame, and we will build in a variable speed drive so the rate can be trimmed on site instead of guessed at design stage.

Why does my hopper bridge or rat-hole?

Almost always an outlet too small or a wall angle too shallow for the material. Cohesive powders need a bigger outlet and steeper walls than free-flowing ones. Live-bottom screws, air pads or a vibrating pan solve the rest.

Can a feeder give me an accurate feed rate?

Volumetrically, yes, with a variable speed drive and a known screw or pan geometry. For gravimetric accuracy the feeder is mounted on load cells and controlled on loss-in-weight — we can build to either.
