How we build it

Roller pitch is set so at least three rollers sit under the shortest box you handle — that one rule prevents most of the stalling and tipping seen on badly specified lines. Gravity sections are pitched at 2–4° depending on load. Powered sections run chain, belt or lineshaft drive, chosen by the duty cycle and how much accumulation you need at the discharge end.

Roller Conveyor — common questions

Gravity or powered rollers?

Gravity is cheaper and needs no power, but it only works if you have the fall available and the loads are consistent. Powered rollers are used where the run is level, where you need controlled accumulation, or where the line has to interlock with packing or weighing equipment.

What roller pitch should I use?

Pitch must be no more than one third of the shortest load length. For a 300 mm carton that means 100 mm pitch or closer. Send us your smallest and heaviest load and we will set it.
