How we build it

Slats carry the load directly, so a slat chain will take heat, weight and sharp edges that would destroy a rubber belt. Chain is selected on working tension with a fatigue allowance rather than on breaking load, and the sprockets are cut to match. Track wear strips are replaceable, so the machine can be brought back to as-new alignment without stripping the frame.

Will a slat conveyor handle hot castings?

Yes — that is one of its main uses. Steel or SS slats will take components straight off a casting line where a belt would char. We size the drive for shock loading rather than steady running.

Slat chain or drag chain?

Slat chain carries discrete items on top of the slats. Drag chain pulls bulk material along the bottom of an enclosed trough. Choose slat for parts and packages, drag for sand, ash and granular material.
