Bulk handling

Drag Chain Conveyor Manufacturer in Chennai

A fully enclosed trough with a chain and flights dragging material along the bottom. Dust stays inside, which is why it is the usual answer for ash, biomass and anything you do not want escaping into the shed.

Typically handles

  • Bottom ash
  • Coal
  • Biomass
  • Wood chips
  • Sludge
  • Foundry return sand

Options we build in

  • Bolted wear liner strip that can be changed without cutting
  • Dust-tight cover with quick-release clamps
  • Multiple inlet and outlet points along the run
  • Chain tension take-up at the tail
  • Overload shear pin or torque limiter

How we build it

Material is dragged along the bottom of a closed trough by flights on a chain, so the casing contains dust and the machine tolerates heat and abrasion that would finish a belt. Trough liners are bolted in and replaceable — the wear item is a plate, not the whole machine. Chain is run slow deliberately: low speed is what buys life in abrasive duty.

Drag Chain Conveyor — common questions

How fast should a drag chain conveyor run?
Slow. Typically 0.10–0.35 m/s for abrasive material. Running faster gains capacity on paper and costs you chain and liner life in practice, so it is better to go one trough size up than one speed step up.
Can a drag chain conveyor run on an incline?
Yes, commonly up to about 30°, and higher with closer flight pitch. Capacity falls as the angle rises, so the trough is sized for the inclined duty rather than the horizontal figure.

Send the material, the throughput and the centre distance or lift. That is normally enough for a budgetary figure within two working days.
